MIT champions data-informed decision making at all levels of the institute. However, administrative teams span a spectrum of data literacy, which becomes a challenge for data leaders to navigate as they collect and leverage data to enhance the team’s initiatives.
To provide guidance in bridging these data divides, we hosted a Data Talks workshop by Beth Prince-Bradbury, Associate Director of Institutional Research at Rochester Institute of Technology. Beth is a subject matter expert on Data Literacy and the author of RIT’s Data Analysis for Decision-Making Professional Certificate, currently offered on the edX platform.
This workshop, “Leading with data: overcoming the data divides,” explored the evidence-based data literacy continuum to provide a framework that data leaders can use to foster confidence and growth to empower their teams.
